COVID-19

The Orléans Health Hub is taking action to ensure the health and safety of patients, families and our colleagues. We are following guidelines from the Ontario Ministry of Health.

Note that the drive-through testing centre closed on Friday, September 30, 2022.

While most masking requirements are being lifted in Ontario, all staff members, patients and visitors must continue to wear the surgical mask that we give them when they come at the Hub, and wear the mask at all times during their visit. This measure remains in effect until further notice.

This precaution is necessary because we provide health care and services to vulnerable or immunocompromised individuals. Note that all hospitals in Ottawa have made the same decision in order to maintain a safe environment for their vulnerable populations and their staff members.

People coming to the Hub must use the North Entrance to be screened for COVID-19. Exceptions may apply for accessibility reasons and screening will be done accordingly.

Only people who have an appointment or who come to the Hub for a walk-in service, as well as one accompanying person, can access the building.

Completing a COVID-19 screening the day of your visit to the Hub is mandatory. This screening can be done on your cellphone or computer by using the Hub Access platform, if you have an appointment. It can also be done in person at the North Entrance.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms, contact your service provider to know if you should reschedule your appointment or visit.

Ottawa Public Health has the most up to date information on their website. We encourage you to go there for more detailed information about COVID-19.

Hospitals in the Champlain region support Ontario's plan to require proof of vaccination for access to businesses. Vaccination against COVID-19 is effective in reducing the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death, and therefore protects our health care system from overcrowding. Hospitals in the region are putting in place plans to implement this directive.

That is why the Orléans Health Hub is requiring proof of vaccination for visitors entering the building, as in other hospitals in the region.

Screening staff at the entrance of the Hub ask for the immunization status of people accompanying a person coming for an appointment and community members entering the Hub. Visitors need to show that they have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days ago.

Exceptions may be made for family caregivers and for compassionate reasons.

People coming to the Hub to receive care or services will not have their vaccination status checked.

Other health measures such as screening, masking, hand hygiene and social distancing will continue for now.

We will continue to assess the situation and adjust our visitor policy accordingly.
