COVID-19

The Orléans Health Hub is taking action to ensure the health and safety of patients, families and our workforce. We are following guidelines from the Ontario Ministry of Health.

Until restrictions are lifted, only the North Entrance will be used as an Entrance to ensure every person entering the Hub has been screened for COVID-19. Exceptions may apply for accessibility reasons and screening will be done accordingly.

During the pandemic, only people who have an appointment or who come to the Hub for a walk-in service, as well as their caregivers, can access the building. Visitors are not permitted.

Completing a COVID-19 screening the day of your visit to the Hub is mandatory. This screening can be done on your cellphone or computer by using the Hub Access platform, if you have an appointment. It can also be done in person at the North Entrance.

All our patients and visitors are required to the surgical mask we will give them when entering the Hub, and at all times while in the building, as recommended by the health autorities in Canada and Ottawa Public Health.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms, contact your service provider to know if you should reschedule your appointment or visit.

Ottawa Public Health has the most up to date information on their website. We encourage you to go there for more detailed information about COVID-19.

Mandatory vaccination for accompanying persons and members of the community

We would like to inform you that Champlain hospitals support Ontario's plan to require proof of vaccination for access to businesses. Vaccination against COVID-19 is effective in reducing the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death, and therefore protects our health care system from overcrowding. Hospitals in the region are putting in place plans to implement this directive.

That is why, in the coming weeks, the Orléans Health Hub will begin requiring proof of vaccination for visitors entering the building, as in other hospitals in the region.

As of September 22, screening staff at the entrance of the Hub will ask for the immunization status of people accompanying a person coming for an appointment and community members entering the Hub.

Beginning October 6, visitors will need to show that they have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days ago.

Exceptions may be made for family caregivers and for compassionate reasons.

People coming to the Hub to receive care or services will not have their vaccination status checked.

Other health measures such as screening, masking, hand hygiene and social distancing will continue for now.

We will continue to assess the situation and adjust our visitor policy accordingly.

We encourage anyone aged twelve and over who is not fully vaccinated to make an appointment at one of the many vaccination clinics in Ontario without delay.

The COVID-19 vaccine is the best way to end the pandemic and return to normal life.

In the next few days, we will be organizing a meeting with you to discuss how this policy will be implemented at the Hub.
